vintage finds. progress.

thrift stores make me giddy
with the thrill of discovering
hidden treasures.
found this week:
large vintage ornate frames.
and a couple of perfectly weathered antique books.
the frames, complete with
good quality wrapped canvas,
tease me to start painting
right on top
right away.

progress on the art prize piece.
the overhead shot makes it easier
to see what needs to be shifted,
4 coats of paint
on each egg shell
yet to be done,
still, what makes me nervous
is the negative space.
no clear idea
of what needs to be done.
oh, and i need more egg shells.

  1. Your thrift store finds make me swoon, and I love what you've done with the eggshells. Whatever you decide to do with the negative space, I think it's going to be amazing!

  2. Tread carefully, those eggshells look very delicate and I can almost smell your delicious vintage book.

    1. learning to be graceful
      while surrounded by such delicacy.
      delicious, yes.

  3. I am coveting that gorgeous book Anca ....... what is your address?????

    1. how about you send me your address
and next time i find such treasure,
      i'll send one your way.
plenty of goodness to go around.

  4. I love your eggshell composition as it is, white on almost white. It's really gorgeous!

    1. less is more, indeed.
must learn to stop when it is just right.
      thank you for the encouragement.

  5. The piece is evolving beautifully, slowly ripening, quietly emerging...go gently

  6. Thrift stores and egg shells. They all look delightful to the eye. Wishing you a creative day.

  7. Oh my gosh, Anca......your eggshell work is going to be absolutely amazing! The colour palette you've started with is lovely. I am in awe, again, with your workings.

  8. ~ adore the whimsy of this piece ~ it calms the soul, like egg shell waves.

perhaps this is your creative muses way of coming to the surface and alerting you that it feels like it's "walking on eggshells"??

in regards to the negative space ~ is it possible that it beckoned your lovely energy to envelope and change it?

    just a different perspective...
